Sally Hernandez

Sally Hernandez has returned to her familiar spot anchoring the KXAN-TV morning and Noon newscasts following three months maternity leave. Hernandez, her husband, KTBC-TV sportscaster Dennis de la Pena and big brother D.J. welcomed baby Noelle on September 19.

KXAN News Director Michael Fabac continues to look for a new morning partner for Hernandez following the naming of Chris Willis to the chief investigative reporter slot. Weekend Sports Anchor Brian Sanders filled in Monday morning. Could he be considering a jump to news as did Bryan Mays at KVUE-TV? Hernandez, a 10-year KXAN veteran, and Sanders have worked together before when she was weekend anchor.
